Dominion Basketball Elite Training (D.B.E.T.), is a youth-focused basketball and training institute dedicated to preparing today’s above-average male basketball players (ages 11 to 14), to become tomorrow’s ELITE basketball talent. By specifically training and developing their basketball IQ, athleticism, and basketball skills, D.B.E.T athletes will be at the forefront of the next wave of ELITE basketball talent from Northern Virginia. At D.B.E.T, these carefully selected athletes are coached to be exceptional athletes, students, and sons.
D.B.E.T was founded by former professional athlete Demetrius “Coach Horse” Doss, as a uniquely designed competitive basketball organization for above-average basketball players in the Northern Virginia area. For the past 7 years, Coach Horse has mentored, trained, and coached youth basketball players in Prince William County, VA. Coach Horse, along with his 3 assistant coaches, have keen skill sets and unique coaching-styles that enables these athletes to compete at the highest level of their grade/age. More importantly, the culture, mentorship, and accountability that Coach Horse and his assistant coaches have created in this program with D.B.E.T. athletes, is something that parents continue to rave about.
Training
Dominion Basketball Elite Training (D.B.E.T.) has a three-pronged intense training program that focuses on the development of elite athleticism, the development of high-level basketball IQ and on-court awareness, and carefully crafted advanced training to propel and develop above-average basketball skills to the elite level. Currently, this intense and high-level basketball training is only available to current D.B.E.T youth athletes, or individuals that tryout and make one of the three D.B.E.T. elite basketball teams.
D.B.E.T youth athletes are challenged and inspired to embrace hard work and pressure, within a training curriculum designed by D.B.E.T Founder Demetrius “Coach Horse” Doss, who has spent the last seven years developing, coaching, and mentoring youth basketball players in Prince William County, VA. As a former professional athlete, who in 1998 received Division 1 scholarships to play basketball and football, he has created a safe and intense training program that specifically focuses on youth basketball players with above-average talent.
Team DBET Travel/AAU Elite Basketball Teams
Currently, Dominion Basketball Elite Training (D.B.E.T.) is looking to possibly fill roster spots for three (3) highly competitive boys basketball teams: Team DBET 2028 (13U), Team DBET 2027 (14U) and Team DBET 2026 (15U).
The travel basketball teams are comprised of above-average basketball talent in their respective age groups and will play competitive travel basketball in local, regional and national highly competitive tournaments. These hand-selected athletes are expected to compete at the highest levels for their ages, as well as go through the intense and challenging training/practice regimen created by Demetrius “Coach Horse” Doss.
Coach Horse’s motto of “embrace the journey” will show these athletes how being challenged athletically and mentally will unlock their full potential as basketball players as well as disciplined and determined students. The “journey” to being an elite basketball player is challenging yet gratifying to those individuals who by perseverance and determination reach their goal. Every D.B.E.T. athlete is coached and trained in a tailored way to create elite basketball players.
TEAM D.B.E.T.’s travel basketball roster will be filled with elite basketball players who demonstrate the work ethic and determination required to reach their athletic goals. If this describes your child, and they are within our targeted age groups then we will see you at tryouts!
